An Administrative Assistant for a small PR firm handles essential office tasks, supports the team with client communication and media, manages calendars/databases, assists with content/events, and serves as a professional first point of contact, blending strong organization, writing, and interpersonal skills to keep client support and campaigns running smoothly and manage client/media relations.
Job Title: Administrative Assistant, Public Relations

Saldaña Public Relations is a small, dynamic agency providing public relations tailored to the cultural values of Austin, Texas.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Office & Calendar Management: Answer phones, manage emails, schedule meetings, maintain calendars (team & client), and handle general office duties.
- Media & Client Support: Update media lists, organize and update shared client files with Team, assist with building, cultivating relationships with clients, journalists/influencers, and support client communications.
- Content & Materials: Help draft, proofread, client communications, communications with elected and appointed officials, and format press releases, social media posts, newsletters, and marketing collateral.
- Client/Campaign Support: Assist with event coordination (press conferences, client events, ground breaking, ribbon cutting events), research industry trends, and track media coverage/metrics.
- Database & Admin: Maintain the PR database, client file documents, manage mailings, and support other clerical tasks.
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience: Prior admin or PR experience (internship counts).
- Skills: Excellent writing/editing, strong computer skills (MS Office, databases, social media), great time management, attention to detail.
- Bilingual helpful, but not required
- Attributes: Proactive, detailed oriented, organized, reliable, team player, able to receive constructive criticism, and eager to learn about PR.
- Education: Degree and/or Proven Experience in Communications, PR, Marketing, government relations and/or related field is a plus.
