Job Title: Administrative Assistant, Public Relations

Saldaña Public Relations is a small, dynamic agency providing public relations tailored to the cultural values of Austin, Texas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Office & Calendar Management: Answer phones, manage emails, schedule meetings, maintain calendars (team & client), and handle general office duties.
  • Media & Client Support: Update media lists, organize and update shared client files with Team, assist with building, cultivating relationships with clients, journalists/influencers, and support client communications.
  • Content & Materials: Help draft, proofread, client communications, communications with elected and appointed officials, and format press releases, social media posts, newsletters, and marketing collateral.
  • Client/Campaign Support: Assist with event coordination (press conferences, client events, ground breaking, ribbon cutting events), research industry trends, and track media coverage/metrics.
  • Database & Admin: Maintain the PR database, client file documents, manage mailings, and support other clerical tasks.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience: Prior admin or PR experience (internship counts).
  • Skills: Excellent writing/editing, strong computer skills (MS Office, databases, social media), great time management, attention to detail.
  • Bilingual helpful, but not required
  • Attributes: Proactive, detailed oriented, organized, reliable, team player, able to receive constructive criticism, and eager to learn about PR.
  • Education: Degree and/or Proven Experience in Communications, PR, Marketing, government relations and/or related field is a plus.
