Director of Public Relations We are seeking a Public Relations Director to help oversee our growing PR department, working closely with day-to-day PR managers to drive integrated communication strategies, provide strategic perspective and consultation, and elevate both our clients’ and our agency’s visibility.

You’re a dynamic, seasoned public relations professional with diverse segment and discipline experience. You’re an excellent communicator with a deep understanding of current marketing trends and technologies, capable of mentoring others and representing our agency effectively to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide perspective and guidance across multiple PR disciplines.

Offer strategic counsel and hands-on guidance across the full spectrum of public relations services, including strategic planning, media relations, content creation, organic social media, influencer engagement, reputation management, event planning, client service, and performance evaluation and measurement. Partner closely with cross-functional teams to ensure PR efforts are thoughtful, integrated, and aligned with broader client and agency objectives.

  • Department management.

Work with agency leadership, other department heads, and the PR team to deepen engagement with clients and industry segments and continue expanding PR services. Foster a motivational environment within a strong agency culture, and provide vision and mentorship that supports continued growth in individual capabilities and agency expertise.

  • Strategy and planning.

Help develop and manage comprehensive PR strategies, including campaigns, budgets, and long-term communication plans, that align with both client and agency objectives.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive public relations experience, with agency experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in communications, PR, or a related field preferred
  • PRSA accreditation preferred
  • Proven success leading PR strategy for multiple clients or brands
  • Experience managing and mentoring teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills
  • Expertise across traditional and digital PR, social media, and technical writing, with demonstrated proficiency in AP style writing standards
  • Experience with coverage-monitoring software a plus
  • Creative thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability
