Bumble is looking for an Associate Director, Social Media to lead the brand’s social strategy and direction globally. Reporting to the Senior Director, Americas Marketing, you will set the vision, cadence, and approach for how Bumble shows up across key social platforms, building community, driving engagement, and ensuring the brand remains at the forefront of culture.
This role will oversee strategy, planning, and execution for Bumble’s social presence—across TikTok, Instagram, and emerging platforms, managing a Social Media Manager, agency, and production partners. You’ll translate Bumble’s mission into breakthrough storytelling, connecting with audiences in ways that drive both brand love and business impact.

You’ll play a pivotal role in defining how Bumble communicates socially, establishing a clear point of view, operational rhythm, and measurement framework that aligns with brand and business objectives. What You'll Do
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, inspire, and mentor direct report(s), fostering a collaborative, creative, and high-performance culture.
- Manage workloads and career development to ensure consistent delivery of world-class creative and strategic output.
- Oversee all aspects of budgeting and resource allocation, balancing strategic investments with efficiency.
- Cultivate a culture of accountability, feedback, and learning—empowering the team to experiment, iterate, and grow.
Strategic Ownership
- Own and evolve the global social media strategy, ensuring a unified brand voice across all platforms and regions while empowering local markets to adapt and localize effectively.
- Be the driver behind Bumble’s social identity, setting how the brand is expressed across TikTok, Instagram, and emerging platforms, balancing relatability, innovation, and global consistency.
- Develop and launch strategic “look ahead” social roadmaps, identifying opportunities for growth, new audiences, and cultural relevance. Define the strategic cadence and social operating model, establishing planning cycles, content frameworks, and performance review structures.
- Partner with Integrated Marketing and Product Marketing teams to align social storytelling with larger marketing goals and product priorities.
Creative Direction & Brand Expression
- Oversee creative development of social-first campaigns, brand partnerships, and platform activations that embody Bumble’s mission and values.
- Ensure all content upholds Bumble’s tone of voice, visual identity, and brand experience across every touchpoint.
- Collaborate closely with the Creative Studio, Influencer, and PR teams to integrate storytelling across social, earned, and paid channels.
Global & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with regional social and marketing leads across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC to align strategy, share best practices, and drive executional excellence.
- Work cross-functionally with Product Marketing, Brand, Member Love, and Partnerships to ensure social initiatives reflect Bumble’s broader brand narrative and community values.
Analytics & Optimization
- Establish clear KPIs, performance goals, and reporting structures to evaluate the success of Bumble’s social programs.
- Oversee the creation of monthly and quarterly reporting, analyzing reach, engagement, sentiment, and growth metrics.
- Use insights to refine strategy, optimize content, and identify new opportunities for audience expansion.
- Translate data into compelling narratives that inform senior leadership and drive continuous improvement.
Operational Excellence
- Serve as budget owner for the global social team, overseeing planning, forecasting, and spend optimization.
- Ensure seamless coordination of global social operations through strong processes, project management, and communication systems.
- Drive operational rigor while maintaining creative agility, balancing innovation with organizational clarity
- Create and deliver executive presentations that articulate strategy, performance, and impact across regions.
About You
- 8+ years of experience in social media, brand marketing, or creative strategy, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience leading a global or multi-regional social media organization for a consumer brand with cultural relevance.
- Strong people leader with a demonstrated ability to mentor, develop, and retain diverse creative and strategic talent.
- Deep understanding of social culture, platforms, algorithms, and storytelling, particularly on TikTok, Instagram, and emerging channels.
- Proven experience with social-led brand partnerships and integrated campaign development.
- Exceptional communicator, relationship builder, and cross-functional collaborator.
- Confident in managing budgets, tracking KPIs, and presenting results to senior leadership.
- Thrives in fast-moving, dynamic environments, with the ability to prioritize effectively and lead with clarity.
