Game Analyst

Overview

We are a social sports gaming DFS mobile app seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Sports Wagering Game Analyst  to join our team in our Las Vegas offices to evaluate player prop statistics and odds, analyze betting markets, assess game outcomes, and provide actionable insights that support sportsbook player prop trading, risk management, and product game development. This role combines sports knowledge, game contest analysis, and market awareness to help optimize pricing, identify risk, and enhance overall sportsbook performance for individual payer proposition wagers.

Key ResponsibilitiesTrading Strategy & Pricing Ownership

• Own the development and refinement of social DFS-specific trading strategies for player props, focusing on contest structures, payout dynamics, and user behavior
• Set and adjust accurate player prop statistics lines, incorporating advanced statistics, matchup data, situational factors, and market trends.
• Identify value opportunities, mispriced lines, and inefficiencies across internal and external markets.

Market Dynamics & Influencer Impact

• Monitor pre-game and in-game line movements, betting trends, and volume across major sports (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NCABB, UFC, Soccer, etc.).
• Account for creator- and influencer-driven impacts, including traffic spikes, injury news, sudden exposure changes, and resulting volatility in betting behavior.

Risk Management & Profitability Balance

• Track and respond to exposure, handle, individual wagers, sharp action, and overall risk while actively balancing user engagement objectives, with profitability goals.
• Partner with Product teams on UI/UX decisions that influence margin, such as alternate line depth, prop availability, and betting limits.
• Ensure market integrity through proactive abuse detection, fraud monitoring, and edge-case oversight.

Performance Monitoring & Reviews

• Monitor live game events to anticipate pricing impacts and make real-time line adjustments.
• Conduct thorough post-event performance reviews that evaluate trading outcomes in the context of product performance, user growth, engagement metrics, and overall business results—not solely isolated trading metrics.

Reporting & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Produce pre and post event daily, weekly, and event-based analysis reports for trading, product, growth, and leadership teams.
• Communicate insights, recommendations, and strategic implications clearly to traders, product managers, compliance, and executives.
• Collaborate closely with trading, product, compliance, and growth teams to align trading strategy with broader platform objectives.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of major sports, betting rules, DFS contest mechanics, and sportsbook operations.
• Proven experience in sports analytics, trading strategy, betting markets, or quantitative roles within DFS gaming or wagering environments.
• Proficiency with analytical tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, R, or similar.
• Exceptional numerical reasoning, statistical acumen, attention to detail, and ability to think strategically beyond executional tasks.
• Comfort thriving in a high-pressure, fast-paced, news-driven environment.

Preferred Skills

• Hands-on experience with sportsbook or DFS platforms, betting models, DFS Pickem and odds compilation.
• Familiarity with data feeds, APIs, real-time sports data, and influencer/creator ecosystems.
• Track record of tracking sharp behavior, detecting abuse patterns, and optimizing for both engagement and margin in player prop markets.
