Job Summary: As the Director, Global Social Media for NYX Professional Makeup, you will be a pivotal and visionary leader, tasked with spearheading the brand's global social media strategy. This role is crucial for maintaining NYX's reputation as an innovative, digital-first beauty brand that deeply connects with its diverse, digitally-native audience, primarily millennials and Gen Z, worldwide. Your mission will be to drive brand awareness, cultivate robust community engagement, and contribute significantly to business growth through cutting-edge and impactful social media initiatives across all relevant platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Global Social Media Strategy & Vision:
- Develop, articulate, and champion a comprehensive global social media strategy that is meticulously aligned with NYX Professional Makeup's distinctive brand identity, overarching marketing objectives, and ambitious business goals.
- Proactively identify and seamlessly integrate emerging social media trends, novel platforms, and advanced technologies to ensure NYX consistently remains at the vanguard of digital innovation within the dynamic beauty industry.
- Work in close collaboration with global market partners to deeply understand market-specific nuances and needs, adapting global strategies for local relevance while meticulously upholding brand consistency and integrity.
- Content & Campaign Leadership:
- Exercise oversight and strategic direction over the global social media content calendar and strategy, ensuring a continuous, compelling flow of engaging and on-brand content across a diverse ecosystem of platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter/X.
- Lead the conceptualization and development of breakthrough content plans, collaborating intimately with creative teams to produce visually stunning assets and persuasive copywriting that are inherently native to each social platform.
- Drive innovative campaigns that strategically leverage user-generated content (UGC) and interactive experiences, fostering profound community participation and celebrating the brand's passionate global fanbase.
- Influencer & Community Engagement:
- Manage and strategically evolve NYX's robust influencer marketing strategy, involving the identification of key beauty influencers, bloggers, and vloggers globally, and nurturing authentic, long-term relationships.
- Oversee comprehensive community management efforts, ensuring proactive engagement, swift responsiveness, and the cultivation of a truly passionate and vibrant global community surrounding the brand.
- Initiate and lead global brand partnerships and collaborations that deeply resonate with the target audience and significantly expand brand reach and influence.
- Performance & Analytics:
- Define clear and measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for all global social media endeavors, and establish a robust analytics framework to diligently monitor performance, meticulously measure ROI, and provide actionable insights.
- Utilize data-driven insights and analytics to thoroughly assess campaign effectiveness, gain a profound understanding of audience behavior, and formulate informed recommendations for continuous optimization and future strategic direction.
- Remain acutely aware of cultural moments and industry conversations to ensure a timely, relevant, and impactful brand presence.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing global social media team, fostering a dynamic culture of creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate extensively and cross-functionally with various internal teams, including Global Marketing, Product Development, E-commerce, Public Relations, and Regional Marketing teams, to ensure seamlessly integrated campaigns and cohesive messaging across all touchpoints.
- Effectively manage external agencies and partners to ensure the flawless execution of social media initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a closely related field.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in social media marketing, with a significant portion of this experience in a global role within the beauty, fashion, or fast-moving consumer goods industry.
- A proven track record of successfully developing and executing impactful global social media strategies that consistently drive brand growth and engagement for a digital-first brand.
- Deep and comprehensive understanding of current and emerging social media platforms, evolving trends, advanced analytics tools, and industry best practices.
- Extensive experience with influencer marketing, sophisticated user-generated content strategies, and effective community building.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, coupled with the ability to inspire and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
- A strategic thinker with a hands-on execution mindset; capable of both developing high-level strategic frameworks and delving into operational details.
- A profound passion for the beauty industry and a keen, nuanced understanding of NYX Professional Makeup's target audience.
Salary Expectations: 128-180k base + bonus
