Bal Seal Engineering is seeking a Global Product Manager (PM) is responsible for defining and executing the global product roadmap for the BSE product portfolio, including seals, springs, and implantables. This role oversees the full product lifecycle—from ideation and development through launch and ongoing optimization—ensuring products meet customer needs, remain competitive, and drive profitable business growth.

The PM serves as the primary steward of product strategy and development, working cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, sales, business development, operations, and regional teams worldwide. This role requires strong strategic thinking, leadership, technical aptitude, and the ability to influence across a highly matrixed, global organization.

Key Responsibilities

Global Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management

  • Define and execute the global product strategy in alignment with company vision, business objectives, and market needs.
  • Develop, maintain, and prioritize the global product roadmap, balancing short- and long-term growth opportunities while leveraging core competencies.
  • Own lifecycle management from ideation through retirement, ensuring continuous product improvement and timely updates.
  • Act as the primary steward of the Product Development Process (PDP), including Stage Gate execution and continuous improvement.
  • Lead PDP pre-stages (Stages 1–3) and Go-to-Market execution (Stage 5); support remaining stages in collaboration with engineering, project management, and cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Business Development to prioritize projects based on strategic importance, revenue potential, timing, and resource availability.
  • Integrate Voice of the Customer (VOC) insights and PDP learnings into new product development and product enhancements.

Market Research, Analysis & Value Proposition

  • Monitor industry trends, customer needs, and competitive activity across regions and segments.
  • Conduct SWOT and competitive analyses to define clear differentiation and validate value propositions by product segment and category.
  • Develop and maintain compelling, customer-centric value propositions that highlight unique selling points, relevance, and pricing competitiveness.
  • Gather and analyze global VOC data to understand customer usage patterns, satisfaction, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) including revenue, market share, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure consistent global product positioning, messaging, and branding in collaboration with Marketing Communications, while enabling regional localization.

Product Launch & Go-to-Market Strategy

  • Develop and execute comprehensive global go-to-market strategies in alignment with Marketing and Sales.
  • Lead global product launches, ensuring coordinated execution across marketing, sales, and regional teams.
  • Define commercialization strategies including pricing, distribution, promotions, and channel approaches by market and segment.
  • Partner with Business Development to create training, enablement tools, campaigns, and sales materials to support lead generation and revenue growth.
  • Serve as the technical voice for product branding and positioning in collaboration with Marketing Communications.

Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration

  • Act as the key liaison between global headquarters and regional teams to ensure strategy alignment while accounting for local market needs.
  • Serve as a primary stakeholder and influencer for R&D, shaping product development, internal testing, and data collection strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, sales, marketing, legal, operations, customer support, and regional teams to ensure successful product delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain continuous feedback loops with customers, sales teams, and regional partners to address issues and identify growth opportunities.

Cost, Profitability & Portfolio Management

  • Collaborate with cost accounting, engineering, and operations to manage costs, improve margins, and ensure product profitability.
  • Manage product portfolios by segment, category, and industry to optimize lifecycle performance and financial outcomes.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical or business field required.
  • MBA preferred but not required.

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated product management and product development experience, from customer engagement through solution development and revenue generation.
  • At least 5 years of technical experience in related fields with B2B component-level design exposure.
  • Proven experience driving products and solutions through global sales and business development organizations.
  • Experience supporting high-profile, mission-critical programs within industries such as Medical, Aerospace & Defense, Diversified Industrial, and Power T&D.

  • Achievement of BSE targets for new product introductions and new revenue opportunities
  • Market share growth across product categories and segments
  • Continuous improvement driven by performance data and market insights
