Your Role at Pivot
Pivot creates workplace environments to enable people to do their best work and as Sales Executive, you are responsible for improving Pivot’s market position and achieving financial growth. You will promote our solutions and services to prospective leads and convert them into new clients. You will act as the primary point of contact, identifying and nurturing potential clients and aligning our solutions with their business drivers. You will engage in the early exploration and design development, liaise with outside partners, to define interior solutions—from furnishings to settings, to integrated interior services—that fulfill the client’s vision. You will liaise with your internal project team members and manage client relationships through project awards. You will act as an advocate for your clients and communicate feedback and desired outcomes with the project team.
In Addition, You Will be Responsible for:
- Industry and Market Research: Support in analyzing industry journals and identifying vacant properties to uncover potential business opportunities. Begin utilizing your network to identify firms working on various projects in the market.
- Networking: Attend industry presentations and showroom tours to build connections. Identify key industry influencers and utilize LinkedIn to establish initial connections.
- Outreach Preparation: Develop an elevator pitch and value statement with guidance and prepare a list of individuals for outreach. Research prospects to identify commonalities and potential opportunities.
- Lead Generation: Join industry-related leads groups and contribute to identifying potential leads.
- Client Strategy: Begin researching client organizations to understand their mission, values, and culture. Assist in identifying stakeholders and gathering information from client employees.
- Product and Services Knowledge: Consistently attend learning sessions and familiarize yourself with Pivot’s products, services, and preferred partners.
We’re Excited About You If You Have
- Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field from a four-year college or university; and up to 2 years of related sales experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to think strategically with quality and depth of decision-making.
- A passion for workplace strategy and commercial interiors.
- Motivation for sales growth, increased market share, and a proven accelerated win rate.
- A general understanding of furniture systems and electrical/cabling issues, building systems, and building codes is essential. Up to 2 years of experience developing sales prospects and customer relationships, sales planning, market knowledge, selling to the customer needs, and meeting sales goals.
- Ability to secure new business while strategically working with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to leverage technological tools to drive sales performance.
- Familiarity with utilizing various CRM and Workflow Management software tools.
- Commitment to delivering best-in-class client experience, always acts with customers’ needs in mind, dedicated to meeting and exceeding the customers’ expectations, and adjusting the strategy as needed.
- Proven success in building and sustaining productive working relationships and networks across a diverse spectrum of people and companies.
- Successfully managed multiple and competing projects and deadlines.
- Demonstrated integrity and trust by acting ethically and gaining the trust and respect of others.
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and other department tools and technologies.
- Demonstrated successful negotiations, persuasion, and closing skills.
- Excellent communication, public speaking, and presentation skills - writes, speaks, and presents information accurately, concisely, and compelling across communication settings and to a variety of audiences.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no permanent supervisory responsibilities, but duties may require the new business development sales executive to temporarily direct and coordinate the actions of several different supporting positions within the project team.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations in English. Ability to write reports, and business correspondence (such as proposals, quotations, and letters) in English. Ability to effectively present information, written and verbal, in English, and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, vendors, and the public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
