The AVP/Corporate Communications will lead the strategy, development, and execution of all internal and external communications, ensuring a consistent and compelling brand voice across multiple channels. This high-visibility leadership role combines strategic storytelling with operational execution, shaping how the organization engages employees, members, and the wider community. The role includes overseeing media relations, crisis communications, executive messaging, and internal communications programs that inform, inspire, and align teams. You will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership while representing the organization externally at events, conferences, and community initiatives. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment, balances creative storytelling with data-driven decisions, and drives engagement that strengthens the organization’s reputation.

Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement a unified communications strategy aligned with organizational mission, vision, and values.
  • Serve as the organization’s storyteller, crafting internal and external messaging that resonates across diverse audiences.
  • Lead internal communications initiatives, including company-wide updates, leadership messaging, and team engagement programs.
  • Oversee media, influencer, and public relations strategies to enhance brand visibility and credibility.
  • Develop and manage crisis communication plans, monitoring emerging issues and advising leadership on response strategies.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support change management, employee engagement, and community outreach.
  • Represent the organization at community events, industry conferences, and public engagements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in corporate communications, media relations, or public relations.
  • 6–8 years of leadership experience, managing teams and communications programs.
  • Proven ability in internal communications, brand storytelling, and managing media engagement.
  • Exceptional writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and managing complex communications challenges with discretion.
  • Familiarity with omnichannel communications strategies, including digital, social, and in-person engagement.
  • High ethical standards, integrity, and professionalism.
