Position Overview:
Reporting to the Vice President of External Relations, the Junior Art Director will support Lifelong’s visual identity across all touchpoints – from fundraising events and campaigns to storytelling and social/digital content. The Junior Art Director will work closely with peers on the external relations team to raise awareness for our mission to make health and food accessible.
We’re looking for a dynamic and creative visual storyteller that brings fresh and innovative ideas to life through exceptional concepting and execution of visual content across print, video, social, and experiential platforms.
This regular, full-time, non-exempt, non-union role has a pay range of $28.85/hr - $40.86/hr and is based in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle, with onsite presence required at least three days per week (Tuesday – Thursday).
Responsibilities:
- Lead our design and creative efforts, evolving our brand aesthetic, concepting and bringing to life visual design across fundraising campaigns, advertising, events/experiences, merchandise, packaging, retail promotions and point-of-sale, online and digital platforms, websites, social media and influencer marketing campaigns
- Manage communications and logistics with corporate volunteer groups to deliver impactful engagement opportunities and showcase their contributions to Lifelong's mission
- Partner closely with marketing, communications, development, and special events to translate ideas into clear, compelling visual concepts and deliver cohesive creative and campaigns that engage, sell, and inspire
- Lead, participate in, and contribute to creative brainstorming sessions and effectively translate ideas into internal pitches both inter-departmental and with senior agency leadership
- Be a creative thought partner to the Vice President of External Relations, contributing to the creativity, innovation, and boldness of the agency’s brand and content
- Develop and maintain clear visual standards and guidelines, references, and systems to ensure brand cohesion
- Collaborate across fundraising/development, special events, communications, and program teams to ensure creative intent is aligned with strategy
- Evening and weekend work may be required; travel as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in creative, marketing, or design, or combination of related education and work experience (consumer/CPG, lifestyle, or agency preferred)
- All candidates must possess a portfolio showcasing an extensive understanding of all creative disciplines, including conceptual and executional (art direction, user experience, copy, motion)
- Consumer product, creative, packaging, and brand expertise is preferred
- Thought leadership: A strong creative point of view; ability to contribute to the strategic development of an assignment; creative ideas and the ability to promote conceptual thinking among the team
- Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, interpersonal, and inter-departmental with the ability to present across teams and with senior leadership
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Passion for Lifelong's mission and a commitment to ethical fundraising practices

Work Environment:
- This position operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers. The role requires regular interaction with colleagues, leadership, and external stakeholders. The position may involve occasional evening or weekend work to support organizational activities or events, as well as limited travel as needed.
