About the Role:

We’re in search of an exceptional intern to support our high-profile brand portfolio. Please note that this is an unpaid internship position, with an opportunity to meet changemakers within the industry and build your network. Our ideal candidate is a pop culture enthusiast who is passionate about PR and brand storytelling. Hard work, drive, organization, "heart," an ease for taking direction, and working collaboratively with others are essential qualities. Because we are a start-up, the hands-on experience will be rich with opportunity, from administrative support and media list building to writing pitches and identifying the right influencers to align with our brands.

Internship Eligibility:

  • At time of application, the candidate must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university with the ability to receive academic credit for the internship.
  • Must be able to have a clear, consistent work schedule throughout the internship.
  • Location: Los Angeles based is preferred; however remote positions may be considered.
  • Must be able to start the internship in January and help through May.
  • Minimum of 20 hours. Must be able to commit to at least 2 full days or 3 half days between Monday-Friday.
  • Currently majoring in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing (or related field) is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • The candidate must have a passion and baseline understanding of public relations, with a desire to pursue a career in the field.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (Sheets, Slides, etc). Experience with Slack is a plus.
  • Comfort in supporting on deck/presentation building needs in PowerPoint or Slides or Canva.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive, positive, resourceful, and able to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities (with learning curve expected):

  • Track and measure press coverage for client reporting.
  • Update and maintain media and influencer lists across the H&C portfolio.
  • Create and update weekly company newsletters.
  • Source reporters for broadcast and print/online publications.
  • Conduct industry-related and competitor research.
  • Attend virtual client meetings and team calls where appropriate.
  • Draft pitches and press materials and potentially reach out to media, creators and brand partners.
