The Advocacy Director will serve as an ambassador for our cause, build high-value relationships with targeted decision-makers, and work in close collaboration with the Global Mobilization team to move prospective partners from connection to commitment as tracked in HubSpot. The Advocacy Director will also also collaborate with Partner Experience and Partner Services Teams to provide encouragement, coaching and support for OneChild’s partners through participation in learning communities and contribution to OneChild’s Global Academy.

THIS POSITION IS ONLY OPEN TO INTERNAL CANDIDATES. SUMMARY The Advocacy Director is responsible for growing our global community of Child Champions within their assigned region. This role identifies, cultivates, and secures committed partnerships by motivating, educating, and equipping leaders to join our mission on behalf of children in hard places. The Advocacy Director will serve as an ambassador for our cause, build high-value relationships with targeted decision-makers, and work in close collaboration with the Global Mobilization team to move prospective partners from connection to commitment as tracked in HubSpot. The Advocacy Director will also also collaborate with Partner Experience and Partner Services Teams to provide encouragement, coaching and support for OneChild’s partners through participation in learning communities and contribution to OneChild’s Global Academy. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL DUTIES* Grow strategic partnerships: Implement Advocacy strategy for growth; build and steward relationships with church leaders, organizational partners, influencers, and other decision-makers who can take meaningful action for vulnerable children. This will result in the formation and strengthening of OneChild partnerships and Cause Communities on Bridgely.

  • Represent OneChild as an ambassador for children: Speak on behalf of children in hard places; champion their value, rights and protection, communicate OneChild’s mission, philosophies, and program model with clarity, conviction, and cultural intelligence. Ambassadorship includes any stage, platform or venue, online or in-person. This will expand a funnel of participation in OneChild’s Cause Communities.
  • Collaborate with the Global Mobilization team for growth: Coordinate outreach efforts, ensure smooth handoffs, and jointly move prospects through the partner-development pipeline using HubSpot for tracking and performance measurement.
  • Strengthen Cause Community engagement and program impact: Coach partners (supporting, frontline and field) in (1) programmatic practices including the Five Signs and (2) creating relational, contextually meaningful content that inspires and roots engagement while honoring dignity, transparency, and effective generosity. Includes contribution to learning communities and creation of content for OneChild’s Global Academy.
  • Elevate and amplify Advocacy within OneChild’s community: Identify leaders within OneChild’s community who demonstrate the passion and skills needed to be effective advocates and help promote their voice and influence.

OTHER DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES* Uses outstanding ambassadorial skills and motivational speaking skills to relay compelling, highly credible communications (written, video, media, and live formats) with a variety of audiences

  • Motivates people into action; secures commitments with a variety of passionate advocates that want to help children in hard places
  • Project management and event management to support organization-wide projects and events
  • Using digital platforms and tech, will create digital content and curate and distribute digital assets

EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING: BA or BS degree required in a related field Masters degree in a relevant field is a plus! EXPERIENCE:* Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in cross-cultural leadership related to international development or child development

  • Extensive expertise in issues and best practices related to children-at-risk, ecclesiology, and transformational development
  • Proven ability to organize, sequence, and execute work to achieve results
  • Planning, managing, networking, marketing and training experience is required
  • Fluent in languages commonly used in the region
  • Experience managing digital content or online learning management systems (LMS) is highly preferred

MANAGERIAL SCOPE: this role is responsible for managing and developing members of the Advocacy team. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This role is eligible for a fully remote schedule. Virtual meetings will be required regularly. There will be occasional events and/or meetings where in-person attendance is required at the home office in Colorado Springs, CO and approximately 30% domestic and/or international travel to low-income communities with demanding, chaotic, and emotionally intense situations. Work will be performed in a typical home office environment with variable sitting and standing. Light physical effort with occasional lifting of 10-20 lbs. Working on a computer, keyboarding, and desk work for long periods of time are required for this role. $78,800 - $96,900 per year
