As a Field Marketing Manager , you will serve as the critical bridge between corporate marketing strategy and franchise-level execution across your assigned multi-state or regional territory. In a $1B+, highly franchised pizza system, your primary mission is to drive same-store sales growth, increase local store marketing effectiveness, and ensure brand standards are consistently activated at the restaurant level.
This is a high-impact, field-intensive role that blends strategic marketing leadership with hands-on franchise partnership. You will work directly with franchisees and their teams to translate national campaigns into hyper-local success while identifying and scaling grassroots opportunities that fuel profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own local store marketing (LSM) performance and same-store sales growth across 80–150 franchised locations in your territory.
- Partner closely with franchise owners/operators to develop and execute annual Local Marketing Plans that align with national campaigns and hit budgeted sales targets.
- Train, coach, and hold franchisees accountable for mandatory marketing fund contributions, co-op participation, and execution of national promotions.
- Conduct regular in-store marketing audits to ensure POP compliance, digital asset usage, community engagement, and overall brand presentation.
- Identify and activate hyper-local marketing opportunities (school partnerships, youth sports sponsorships, chamber of commerce, influencer collaborations, etc.) that deliver measurable ROI.
- Manage territory-specific grand openings, re-openings, and remodel marketing launches end-to-end.
- Collaborate with the corporate digital, social, and creative teams to customize assets for local relevance (geo-targeted offers, store-specific social content, etc.).
- Lead quarterly Business Reviews with top franchisees, presenting marketing performance analytics and growth recommendations.
- Support new franchisee onboarding and ongoing marketing training programs.
- Work cross-functionally with Operations, Training, Supply Chain, and Real Estate teams to align marketing initiatives with operational capabilities.
- Monitor competitive activity in the territory and rapidly deploy counter-programming when needed.
What Success Looks Like:
- Consistent year-over-year same-store sales growth above company average in your territory
- 95%+ execution rate of national campaigns at the store level
- Measurable lift from local marketing initiatives (tracked via promo codes, digital attribution, etc.)
- Strong franchisee relationships evidenced by high satisfaction scores and voluntary marketing fund participation
Qualifications & Experience:
- 3--5+ years of field/local marketing experience, ideally within franchised QSR, fast-casual, or retail environments (pizza or Italian category a strong plus)
- Proven track record of driving same-store sales growth through local marketing execution in a multi-unit/franchise environment
- Deep expertise in grassroots/community marketing, grand openings, and third-party delivery promotions
- Strong financial acumen – comfortable building marketing budgets, reading P&Ls, and calculating ROI on local initiatives
- Exceptional relationship-building and influencing skills; able to partner with franchise owners who operate as independent business owners
- Willingness to travel 60–70%
- Proficiency with digital marketing tools (Google Business Profile, Meta Business Suite, basic Canva/design skills, reputation management platforms)
- Experience presenting to franchisee boards, advisory councils, or large operator groups is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field strongly preferred
