Job Description: Fast growing robot company YARBO is looking for a marketing&sales intern for the Winter or the full academic year. Prior marketing/sales is preferred. Skills students will acquire during the internship include speaking&writing of Mandarin Chinese, communication, problem solving/critical thinking, professionalism, global competency, and teamwork.
Responsibilities:
1. Live Streaming Support
- Assist in pre-stream preparations (e.g., organizing scripts, preparing products, setting up platforms)
- Support during live streams by managing chat interactions, tracking audience questions, and helping with flow control
- Help with post-stream tasks, including content clipping, summarizing highlights, and analyzing performance data
2. External Communications
- Assist in building and maintaining communication with media, influencers, and external partners
- Support PR activities such as product seeding, media coordination, and interview arrangements
- Draft and organize bilingual materials (e.g., brand introductions, product descriptions) for external use
3. Content Creation & Social Media Support
- Help create marketing content such as social media posts, email newsletters, and product highlights
- Support daily operation of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, etc.)
- Track content performance and gather user feedback for optimization
4. Marketing Campaign Support
- Assist in organizing online/offline marketing activities, including trade shows, sales campaigns, and user events
- Prepare event materials such as brochures, booth setups, and giveaway items
5. Market Research & Competitive Analysis
- Assist in collecting and summarizing industry trends, customer insights, and competitor information
- Compile findings and offer preliminary analysis to support strategic planning
6. General Team Support
- Provide support for various ad hoc tasks assigned by the marketing team
- Participate in team brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas and suggestions
Qualifications:
● 3.00 cumulative grade point average [GPA is optional]
● Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
● Ability to work independently and take initiative on projects
● Have a background in business management, journalism, graphic design or communications
● Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Apps
● Previous experience with marketing, sales, operations, social media, content creation is preferred
● Availability to fulfill internship hours during business hours and possible night or weekend/events
● A sense of commitment to the mission and goals of the Department and University
Learning Outcomes
- Develop hands-on experience in live streaming operations, including pre-production planning, real-time engagement management, and post-stream performance analysis.
- Gain practical skills in external communications, including media outreach, influencer coordination, and bilingual content preparation.
- Strengthen capabilities in content creation, understanding how to craft effective social media posts, newsletters, and product messaging aligned with brand voice.
- Build familiarity with social media management tools, analytics platforms, and best practices for growing and engaging an online audience.
- Acquire experience in planning and executing marketing campaigns, from event preparation to supporting online/offline promotional activities.
- Enhance analytical thinking through market research and competitive analysis, learning how to collect, assess, and summarize industry data.
- Improve teamwork and communication skills by collaborating with cross-functional teams and contributing creative ideas during brainstorming sessions.
- Develop strong organizational and multitasking abilities by supporting various day-to-day marketing tasks and adapting to dynamic project needs.
Candidate qualifications:
Preferrably Junior, Senior Business Administration & Management major, Communication/Media/Marketing major.
*Additional information to be included:
- Location: Ronkonkoma, Long Island, New York
- Timeline (semester or academic year commitment)&Number of hours per week: Starting immediately and long term. Ideally this will be a full time internship with 8 hours/day x 5 days a week, but we can discuss that and accomodate it with student's scheudle.
- On job training: Will work closely with a small start up team.
- Pay/credit: We are looking to hire 1 person for internship position first, with the potential to convert into a full time employeement after this person has demonstrated their capabilities and also with other reuiqred credentials. With the internship opportunity, we offer pay of $16/h. And with the full time opportunity that will happen in the future, we can sponsor visa.
