This position will help you craft your own story by offering you an opportunity to create, curate and promote engaging content across all social media channels to drive awareness and engagement for 898 Marketing and our clients.
We are looking for an energetic and self-motivated Social Media Intern to join our team. Ideal candidates will have to be working towards a degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or other related program and demonstrate a sound use of social media for business purposes.This hands-on internship needs a team player willing to take on multiple projects in an effort to meet various company and client deadlines.
In addition to being an excellent communicator, you should have excellent multitasking and organizational abilities. The successful candidate will also have in-depth knowledge of general marketing techniques, principles and how social media marketing influences and plays into other techniques used to grow a business.
WHAT YOU’RE CALLED TO DO:
- Assist in the creation and curation of compelling content for social media platforms, including but not limited to posts, graphics, videos, and other multimedia assets.
- Help execute content calendars for multiple clients, ensuring consistent posting schedules and adherence to brand guidelines
- Attend social media client meetings with team
- Collaborate with the Social Media team to support the execution of social media advertising campaigns, including ad creative development, audience targeting, and performance tracking
- Review and analyze posts/campaigns to measure their impact and effectiveness based on established KPIs
- Report on weekly analytics of impressions, engagements, and earned media equivalency rate to determine outperforming/underperforming content
- Engage in online social listening to identify opportunities to insert 898 Marketing and clients in the social conversation as a gateway to reach influencers, experts and potential customers/clients
- Stay consistent with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in social media marketing, content creation, and digital advertising.
- Monitor all comments and direct messaging to ensure no spam, slander, etc
- Work with the Social Media team to brainstorm new content ideas for Reels, images and graphics. Conduct regular research on competitors and explore what does well in each industry
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate course for Marketing, Communications, Journalism or similar field
- Demonstrated hands’ on experience producing engaging content on relevant social media networking sites and platforms for business purposes (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, SnapChat, Tik Tok, etc.)
- Experience in scheduling social media posts
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word/PowerPoint/Excel, Google Suite and both PC and MAC operating environments and Photoshop
- Experience designing in Canva preferred
- Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks within identified time frames with outstanding multitasking abilities
- Organized, dependable and detail oriented
- Team Player with a cooperative spirit
- Writing and proofing skills are required
- Excellent personal, verbal and written communication skills
- Must have a passion for putting talents to use to help others
- Willing to volunteer in community
- Professional, punctual and collaborative
