Position Summary:
We are seeking a data-driven and fashion-savvy Market Research Analyst to support strategic planning, product development, and growth initiatives within the apparel industry. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong analytical skills with a passion for consumer trends and retail dynamics. You will gather, analyze, and translate market intelligence into clear insights that guide product, marketing, and merchandising decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research on consumer demand, fabric preferences, style trends, and pricing expectations within large-scale apparel retail environments
- Collaborate with the product development team to create new categories or collections that align with market insights
- Support branding and marketing departments with research related to brand positioning, consumer feedback, influencer partnerships, and digital content trends
- Analyze internal sales data and market intelligence to generate actionable insights
- Monitor seasonal fashion cycles, competitor strategies, and global apparel trends
- Design and execute surveys, questionnaires, and user interviews to support deeper understanding of customer needs
- Compile insights and present findings in clear reports, charts, and visual summaries for key stakeholders
- Maintain and regularly update internal databases of trend, pricing, and consumer data
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., marketing, fashion merchandising, business, economics, or data analytics)
- 2–5 years of experience in apparel market research, retail analytics, product strategy, or a related field
- Strong skills in data interpretation, market analysis, and consumer insight development
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities; ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Interest in fashion, apparel retail, and consumer behavior
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with fashion retailers, department stores, or trend forecasting firms
Familiarity with data and research platforms (e.g., Google Trends, NPD, Mintel, Similarweb)
Basic understanding of fabrics, apparel construction, and fashion buying cycles
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, or other analytics tools
Exposure to influencer analysis, consumer segmentation, or brand monitoring
Self-starter with curiosity, initiative, and the ability to contribute beyond assigned tasks
Fluency in Chinese communication is preferred, but not required.
