Marketing Specialist, Publications
Position Overview
The Marketing Specialist for Publications develops and executes marketing strategies that support sales, brand alignment, and customer engagement. This role works closely with marketing leadership, sales teams, and cross functional departments to create compelling campaigns and materials that reflect Sheridan's commitment to excellence in print and publishing.
Due to team collaboration needs, this role is limited to candidates who reside in Eastern or Central time zones and can work standard business hours in those time zones.
Key Responsibilities
Create and execute targeted marketing strategies that drive lead generation, conversion, and customer retention within the publications sector
Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive insights
Ensure all publication marketing efforts align with Sheridan's brand standards and visual identity
Manage end to end marketing campaigns that include content creation, print marketing, email marketing, digital marketing, and event marketing
Use data analytics to measure performance and optimize campaign results
Collaborate with design and content teams to create brochures, whitepapers, case studies, and other sales collateral
Partner with sales teams to identify needs and develop high impact tools including pitch decks and presentations
Provide training to sales teams on how to use marketing materials effectively
Maintain a current and organized library of sales assets
Serve as a brand steward across all customer touchpoints
Develop thought leadership content such as newsletters, blogs, articles, social media posts, and webinar materials
Make website updates that support campaigns, improve user experience, and reinforce brand messaging
Conduct customer surveys by phone and web
Represent Sheridan at industry events and build relationships with partners and influencers
Support or lead company wide initiatives including email communications, holiday mailings, quarterly update videos, and webinars
Work closely with the Director of Marketing to maintain alignment across divisions
Collaborate with internal teams in design, operations, and customer service to deliver seamless campaigns
Track and report on key performance indicators and demonstrate campaign ROI
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
At least five years of marketing experience, preferably in printing, publishing, or similar industries
Proven success designing and executing lead generation campaigns
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Strong knowledge of marketing automation tools, CRM systems, and analytics platforms
Proficiency on social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Linked In, and BlueSky
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects within a fast paced environment
Creative mindset with a passion for storytelling and brand development
Strong interpersonal skills with professionalism, tact, and discretion
Preferred Qualifications
Strong understanding of publication printing and the broader print industry
Experience with CRM platforms such as HubSpot or SalesForce
Experience using Adobe Suite or Canva for graphic design
Experience updating websites through WordPress
Familiarity with proven SEO practices
Physical Requirements
Long periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Ability to move throughout all departments within the facility
Travel Requirements
Minimal travel for company meetings
Occasional overnight travel may be required
