About This Opportunity

Collectivus is a portfolio of leading brands that power the hobby and collectibles industry – serving both consumers and local game stores through distribution, product development, grading, publishing, and retail support. Our brands include Southern Hobby, the largest hobby distributor of trading card games in the U.S.; Sales First, a fast-growing hobby retail distributor; Beckett, a trusted name in grading and price guides; and Dragon Shield, a global leader in TCG accessories.

We’re looking for a strategic, well-rounded marketer to lead marketing efforts for Southern Hobby (SHD) and Sales First (SF) while also contributing to broader marketing initiatives across the Collectivus portfolio. This role is grounded in the SHD/SF businesses—owning how it shows up to stores, brands, and the broader industry—but will also collaborate across functions and brands to ensure consistency, share insights, and support cross-brand campaigns.

You’ll rethink how we use our data, tools, and content to provide real value to stores beyond just fulfillment, while helping evolve the Southern Hobby and Sales First brands and contributing to Collectivus’ wider growth.

Core Responsibilities

Brand & Communications Ownership

  • Own the Southern Hobby and Sales First brands in-market from positioning to voice to design, working to both modernize and upscale how customers, partners, and the industry view us
  • Develop revised brand guidelines and toolkits that reflect a refreshed approach to our branding
  • Manage our Southern Hobby and Sales First social channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) and broader digital storytelling strategy
  • Lead our efforts to partner with content creators and influencers that can help broaden our reach and shape the narrative
  • Work with internal teams and Collectivus PR to increase our visibility and awareness across the industry

Sales & Vendor Enablement

  • Partner with our sales team to develop materials and campaigns that help win and retain customers: line cards, decks, trend data, seasonal programs, promotions, or discount programs, etc.
  • Create a sales contact and email blueprint that helps guide tone, selling points, content, follow-up, etc.
  • Support our buying and business development teams with pitch materials to secure new brands, exclusives, and vendor partnerships
  • Ensure everyone in our organization can clearly articulate what makes Southern Hobby and/or Sales First different

Website & Email Marketing

  • Own the Southern Hobby website’s merchandising, marketing, email, and content
  • Identify the right Sales First website, email, and content strategy, and begin implementation in partnership with product and IT
  • Partner with our digital product and IT teams to guide the product roadmap and identify appropriate martech partners
  • Build and optimize our campaign and product email campaigns with a focus on driving engagement and sales

Events & Industry Activations

  • Act as the marketing lead for our SHD/SF event strategy, partnering closely with our Events team and leadership
  • Help plan and execute our presence at trade shows, retailer summits, and co-branded events
  • Work with other Collectivus brands (Beckett, Dragon Shield) and external partners to develop collaborative activations and campaigns

Customer Value Through Data & Content

  • Lead an effort to turn our sales data into actionable insights for stores: category trends, geographic benchmarks, title velocities, brand or product opportunities, etc.
  • Develop tools and content that help our reps deliver value beyond the product:
    • Benchmarking reports on store operations (e.g., rent, payroll, margin expectations)
    • Merchandising guides and visual inspiration
    • Financing overviews and business planning templates
    • White papers and case studies based on store size, location, or focus

This is a chance to build something new: a consultative layer around our sales efforts, grounded in the data we already have and the trust we’ve built with stores over decades. We don’t want to just sell products—we want to help stores run better businesses.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 7–10 years in marketing or trade marketing roles, ideally in distribution, consumer goods, or hobby/gaming
  • Background in the TCG/hobby space is a requirement (Personal or Professional)
  • Strong writer and communicator who can make complex topics feel clear and relevant
  • Experience developing sales tools, pitch decks, and marketing campaigns that drive adoption and conversion
  • Confidence working with data and distilling insights into materials for sales or stores
  • Strong instincts around what stores and vendor partners actually need, and what they don’t

Strongly Preferred:

  • Experience managing digital marketing channels and email campaigns
  • Previous work in B2B distribution or channel partner marketing
